One More Step

Two months ago a young woman came into my gym looking to change her life.

This lady was tormented by her current body condition to the point that while speaking ot me she came to tears.

She took full responsability for allowing herself to get this out of shape.

She turned to me, like many do and said that she was willing to do whatever was needed to change herself for the better.

So, I asked:
Are you ready to stop being a slave to your body?
She replied, Yes Sir.

With that answer we started immediately.

I had her start off very slow so that I could see where her fitness level was at. This gave me a better idea of what I was working with and where I should start.

I chose a low impact setting on the Eliptical machine to help the discomfort in her knees.

When she first stepped on the machine all she could manage was 3:00 before she needed a rest.

I assured her that this was a good start.

I then explained that we must look at this transformation as a marathon session.

To start any marathon we must first take baby steps.
I told her that her current out of shape body didn’t happen over night.
It took time.

Today, two months later this young lady stands tall and 31lbs lighter. That eliptical is now her victim as she wears that thing out 5 days per week in our gym.

She is also within 5lbs of the lightest weight she has been since high school.

All it took was something I told her at the beginning:
just take “one more step” on that machine each day and you’ll end your training with a personal best.

I ask you!

How will you apply this lesson to your daily walk?

Will you settle for the same as yesterday or will you take one more step to your goal?
